Many parents allow their children to watch way too much television and its a shame. Mostly they allow this so they can get a break or just for some time to relax. Currently, there are several educational television programs that challenge our kids minds. Although, most kids are unaware these programs even exist. The garbage that is aired these days is very inappropriate and has no educational values whatsoever. The only thing they pick up is bad language and terrible behavior. There are many other ways we can stimulate our children’s minds that does not include television.

The first thought that comes to mind for me is a good educational toy that will provide a positive foundation for acquiring knowledge. Plus, They actually enjoy playing with the toys because they are fun and entertaining. So, it’s not a struggle to keep them interested, they are quite amused by the products. A toddler’s brain consumes so much information at a young age and they are able to retain a great deal of information. I just want to make sure they are retaining the proper information, so they can be prepared for their academic challenges in the future.

Stimulating your children’s minds in a positive, creative environment is essential for early brain development and growth. By making an effort now while they are young, will help them navigate through life’s challenges much more adequately. I believe the best approach to get their complete attention is to discover who their favorite cartoon characters is and exploit it. For example, my son adores “Thomas the train” and it just so happens that there are many great computer learning games on the Internet that keeps him interested.

They have reading, writing, art, and even mind games like puzzles and solving mazes. All of these educational tools are a great method to tune my son’s educational skills. He began yearning for more knowledge at a very young age and that is a wonderful quality to instill in him. I actually taught him the alphabet with some of the games featured on this program and it made a big difference.

These programs are there for us as parents to use and take advantage of since we have the technology in our grasps. I know with long-work schedules parents get overwhelmed easily and it makes it difficult to create time. However, just remember this we only live once and you never get back the time you spend with your kids at that young age. These are the memories you will cherish when your children grow up to become a great success. You have the power to mold a terrific mind and provide them with the correct skills they need to succeed in today’s society.

In conclusion, if parents can spend just ten minutes a day with their kids with just one of these methods, it will make a big difference. I noticed within a few weeks the transformation it made for my son and I implore you try it with your own children. Like I said before, life passes us by very quickly and if we don’t stop to take a look sometimes, you will miss the best moments.
